Nourishing Your Wellbeing

When I say the word ‘nourish’ what comes to mind? Food, right? What if I told you the foods you eat are secondary to all the other things that “feed” you. Nourish is the second pillar in my 4 Pillars of Wellness. Everything in our environment influences how we feel, think and act.
This means there are other important aspects of our lives that feed us, that nourish us such as your relationships, career, spirituality, and physical activity. These aspects of life serve as energy to feed optimal wellness, whereas food provides fuel for our bodies.
Every day we take in experiences from life that fulfill us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. These experiences provide nourishment, just like food provides energy. One cannot fully thrive if any aspect of being goes unfulfilled. The extent to which we are able to incorporate the things we hunger for determines how enjoyable and worthwhile our lives feel. From touch to love, art to self-expression, and adventure to spirituality, there is no limit to that which nourishes different aspects of who we are.
